This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 2, 2026

The successful applicant should ideally have high expectations, exhibit a commitment to excellence, use a range of pedagogies and establish and maintain positive relationships. You should ideally be flexible and able to apply strategies for differentiated instruction in the Arts curriculum under the guidance of a collaborative leadership structure. Additionally, teachers at the school are expected to embrace the Whole School Instructional Model which features components of an Explicit Direct Instruction methodology.

Teachers and school administrators employed at Katanning Senior High School in 2026 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $3 000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.

The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers

Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
