Position Details

Star of the Sea Primary School is seeking applications from enthusiastic and innovative Nominated Supervisor/Educational Leader to join our vibrant learning community. We are looking for applicants who are passionate about learning, committed to fostering a nurturing and engaging environment and eager to contribute to a collaborative and faith-filled school culture.

Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School is a triple stream co-educational school of approximately 800 students from the Early Learning Centre (3-Year-Old) to Year 6.  The school is situated in the centre of Rockingham giving easy access to the surrounding suburbs.  The school operates a 3-Year-Old Early Learning Centre (open 5 days per week from 6am – 6pm) and a 4-Year-Old Kindergarten Program operates (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) with 2 additional days (Thursday and Friday) that are optional.  Out of School Hours Care and Vacation Care are available at the school.

Star of the Sea offers a broad curriculum with specialist teachers across the learning areas of Science, ICT, PE, LOTE (Auslan) and Music. Star of the Sea has excellent IT infrastructure and resources as well as a variety of playground equipment, basketball courts and a large oval.  Clear boundaries, routines and a consistent whole school approach allows students to flourish in a supportive learning environment.

As a West Australian Catholic school, we are part of the system of schools supported by Catholic Education Western Australia (CEWA). At the local level we are integral in the life of the local parish of ‘Our Lady of Lourdes’.

Selection Criteria

• A genuine commitment to living and promoting the Catholic ethos of Star of the Sea Vision and Values
• Ability to be patient, tolerant, reliable and flexible in the classroom and workplace
• Experience as a leader within a childcare setting and have sound knowledge of the EYLF, MTOP, National Law and Regulations
• Demonstrated ability to empathise with and understand young children
• The proven ability to work collaboratively with others, build trust and display integrity
• Sound written and verbal communications skills

Qualifications Required

• Attainment of or working towards Diploma of Education and Care or an equivalent/higher qualification
• Working with Children’s Check (or willing to obtain)
• Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (or willing to obtain)
• Accreditation to work in a Catholic School (or willing to obtain)
Current First Aid and CPR certificates (HLTAID012/HLTAID009) and current Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates or will obtain/renew prior to commencing
