Our Casual Bus Driver plays an important role in supporting the smooth running of school programs by safely transporting students to and from events such as sport, swimming and excursions. This role helps ensure students can participate in a range of learning opportunities beyond the classroom in a safe and organised way. The position is classified under the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022 at Education Support Level 2, with an approximate hourly rate of $36–$38 (plus casual loading where applicable).

Working alongside school staff, the Bus Driver supports a calm, safe and positive environment during transport. The role involves driving hired minibuses (11–25 seats) for short trips within Mildura and completing basic safety and compliance checks.

  • Build respectful and positive relationships with students and staff
  • Safely transport students to and from school activities
  • Follow simple procedures for vehicle safety checks and refuelling
  • Be reliable, punctual and flexible based on school needs
  • Communicate clearly and maintain professionalism at all times
  • Support a safe and calm environment for students during travel

Key Selection Criteria

  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • Strong awareness of safety and responsibility
  • Reliability and flexibility to respond to changing schedules
  • Ability to communicate clearly with staff and students
  • Positive and respectful approach when working with children
  • Experience driving buses or larger vehicles (desirable)

Special Requirements

  • Current driver’s licence appropriate for 11–25 seater vehicles
  • Working with Children Check (Employee) and National Police Check
  • Willingness to follow Child Safe Standards and school policies
