The Opportunity
Are you passionate about hands-on learning and supporting students in technical education? We are seeking a dedicated Technology Studies Support Officer to join our team and assist in the delivery of high-quality learning experiences in our Tech Studies Work Centre. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with teachers and students in a dynamic workshop environment, contributing to the development of practical skills in carpentry, metalwork, and related disciplines.
This position is permanent part-time, 45 weeks per year (40wks school year + 1 week; prior school starts, each term holidays, and when school finishes)
Flexiblity to work
18hrs/pw over 5 days OR 14hrs/pw - Mon 4hrs, Wed 5.75hrs, Thurs 4.25hrs
Your Responsibilities
We are seeking an enthusiastic Educator who will demonstrate an ability to:
- Supervise students in the Tech Studies Work Centre and assist teachers with technical instruction in carpentry and/or metalwork.
- Support students in completing workshop tasks, ensuring safety and engagement in both individual and group settings.
- Perform timely setup of tasks and monitor student progress to keep them on track.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance of workshop fittings and fixtures to ensure safety and functionality.
- Apply sound knowledge of Work Health and Safety (WHS) practices in all workshop activities.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate discretion when handling sensitive matters.
