Senior Early Years Advisor

The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to influence the direction of Early Years education across Catholic Education South Australia. In this senior advisory role, you will work closely with leaders, teachers and educators to strengthen curriculum, pedagogy and workforce capability across Preschools, Early Learning Centres, Occasional Care, Supported Playgroups and OSHC services. Your work will help ensure children experience rich, engaging learning that supports them to thrive academically, socially and spiritually.
This is a full-time (1.0FTE), permanent position working at the Catholic Education Office.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading the development and implementation of the CESA Early Years curriculum, ensuring alignment with the Early Years Learning Framework, Catholic Identity, and National Law and Regulations.
- Designing and delivering professional learning that builds educator capability and improves outcomes for children.
- Visiting Early Years services to coach and mentor staff, strengthen teaching practice and support continuous improvement.
- Leading initiatives that enhance workforce attraction, development and retention, including pathways for VET and university students.
- Providing expert advice on compliance, quality standards and supports for children with additional needs.
- Contributing to system‑wide planning, reporting and policy development to drive excellence across all Early Years services.
About You
We are seeking someone who:
- Brings deep expertise in Early Years education (Birth–5 years) and a strong understanding of contemporary early childhood pedagogy.
- Demonstrates proven leadership in using data, evidence and evaluation to drive continuous improvement in teaching, learning and service quality.
- Has strong knowledge of the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, and experience supporting services to meet compliance and quality standards.
- Is an exceptional communicator who builds positive relationships, influences with impact, and leads professional learning with confidence and clarity.
- Shows initiative, resilience and strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively across diverse teams.
- Holds relevant tertiary qualifications, teacher registration in South Australia, and (or is willing to obtain) a Graduate Certificate in Catholic Studies.
The successful candidates will be required to undergo our screening process, which includes a Working with Children Check, E-Screen, Applicant Declaration Form and RRHAN.
