About the Role

Education Support Officer – Food Technology Officer

Permanent Part-Time | 25 hours 5 Days per week (8am – 1pm) | 41 weeks per year

We are seeking a Food Technology Officer to join our Secondary Campus (Years 7 – 12). This position provides essential support to teaching staff and students in the delivery of the food technology curriculum and practical lessons.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with teachers to collate and prepare food orders for practical lessons and events.
  • Set up teacher demonstration areas and assist with practical cooking sessions.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of stock and coordinate with teaching staff weekly food shopping for classroom requirements.
  • Rotate and safely store pantry, fridge, and freezer items in line with WHS and food hygiene standards.
  • Prepare recipe boxes and ensure consumables and equipment are available for lessons.
  • Receive and check deliveries, rectify discrepancies, and submit invoices to finance.
  • Wash and maintain tea towels and aprons for practical sessions.
  • Clean and tidy teaching and storage facilities as required.
  • Undertake other duties as directed by the Principal or delegate.

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a commercial or domestic kitchen is advantageous.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Hold a current acceptable Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance & screening to work in Catholic Education South Australia.
  • Hold current certification in Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect in Education and Care Settings.
  • First Aid Qualification.
