The Opportunity
St Joseph’s School, West Hindmarsh is seeking a skilled, reflective and passionate educator to join our learning community in the combined role of Reception Teacher, STEM Teacher, and Gifted and Talented Leader (POR 1).

Given the diverse nature of the role, consideration will be given to candidates proposing to perform only the Reception teacher position (0.5 FTE) or the STEM/Gifted and Talented Coordinator (0.5 FTE plus POR 1). Please state as such in your cover letter.

Reception Teacher Responsibilities
• Creating a warm, structured and stimulating learning environment
• Establishing clear routines and high expectations
• Planning and delivering developmentally appropriate programs aligned to the Australian Curriculum and Crossways
• Using evidence-informed and data-driven practice
• Implementing restorative and trauma-aware practices
• Building strong partnerships with families
• Actively supporting Catholic identity and Josephite charism
STEM Teacher Responsibilities
• Designing and delivering engaging STEM programs across Reception to Year 6
• Emphasising Digital Technologies and problem solving
• Supporting student wellbeing and engagement
• Coordinating STEM events and extracurricular activities
• Collaborating with colleagues and families
Gifted and Talented Leader (POR 1)
• Designing inclusive and evidence-based extension programs
• Supporting higher-order thinking and inquiry
• Communicating with families and staff
• Reviewing and refining the program
About You
• Commitment to Catholic Education and the Josephite charism
• Expertise in Early Years pedagogy and inclusive practice
• High expectations balanced with care and compassion
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
• Current or eligible Teacher Registration in South Australia
• Accreditation with, or willingness to undertake accreditation through, Catholic Education SA
