About the Role
We are seeking an outstanding educator and inspiring leader to take on the role of Head of Mathematics. This is a rare opportunity for a passionate mathematician to shape the academic culture of a thriving department, drive exceptional HSC outcomes and inspire a love of mathematics across all year levels.
As a member of the school's academic leadership team, the Head of Mathematics will lead curriculum design, champion evidence-informed pedagogy, mentor a committed team of teachers, and contribute meaningfully to whole-school strategy — all within a supportive and values-driven Catholic environment.
This is a Level 3 Leadership Position
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation and review of Mathematics curricula across Years 7–12, ensuring full alignment with NESA syllabuses and HSC requirements.
- Embed research-based, data-informed pedagogy and differentiation strategies to meet diverse learner needs.
- Model exemplary classroom practice, demonstrating high-impact, engaging and evidence-based instructional strategies.
- Lead, mentor and support a team of Mathematics teachers, fostering a culture of professional growth and collaboration.
- Champion the connections between Mathematics, Science, Technology and Engineering.
About You
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- A genuine passion for Mathematics and a commitment to inspiring a love of learning in young women.
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in teaching HSC Mathematics, including Mathematics Advanced, Extension 1 and Extension 2.
- Strong understanding of high-quality curriculum design, assessment theory and formative feedback practice.
- Proven capacity to lead, manage and inspire a team of professionals in a collaborative environment.
- Ability to analyse student performance data to identify trends and inform teaching and learning decisions.
- Effective use of digital and blended learning platforms to enhance student engagement.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Genuine alignment with the Catholic mission, values and ethos of our school community.
