This is a permanent full-time position commencing ASAP

The Infrastructure Division has responsibility for the planning and provision of facilities (land, buildings and equipment), which includes land planning, student enrolment forecasting and facilities planning, strategic asset management, capital works programs, maintenance and minor works programs and provision of facilities related services.

The Role

The successful candidate will develop training programs and professional development workshops for school cleaners and gardeners and other school staff such as managers corporate services, when required. They will be required to evaluate effectiveness of training and monitor delivery to ensure necessary competencies are transferred and retained by cleaners and gardeners and other staff, as appropriate.

The Training Coordinator assists in ensuring compliance with the Directorate’s and Division’s policies, procedures and standards. They are expected to contribute to a work environment that is safe, fosters equity and diversity, enables the achievement of personal and Education Business Services (EBS) goals and facilitates accomplishment of designated roles and deliverables.

The successful applicant will ideally have strong customer service experience to help develop and maintain effective communication links and working relationships within the Division and across the Department to ensure access to specialist training knowledge.

Eligibility

To work with us, you must: 

  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
  • hold a relevant tertiary qualification or possess equivalent practical experience in training development and delivery.
  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
  • hold a current Western Australian ‘C’ Class driver’s licence and be prepared to travel to regional areas when requested to deliver training or undertake peripheral duties
