Details: Arawang Primary School, is seeking a highly motivated and organised individual with exceptional attention to detail and a process-driven approach to join our team as Staffing Officer and Executive Assistant (EA).
This dual role provides critical administrative and executive support to the Principal and Leadership Team, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and the effective management of all staffing-related processes.
The successful applicant will coordinate key staffing processes including booking relief staff, supporting staff induction, rostering, reconciling leave submissions and maintaining accurate HR records. They will provide high-level executive assistance to the Principal and leadership team through effective diary management, meeting preparation, correspondence and the handling of confidential documentation.
Working both independently and collaboratively with the front office and executive team, the applicant will exercise sound judgement, discretion and professionalism at all times. They will uphold the highest standards of confidentiality in relation to staffing, student and school matters, while building positive relationships with staff, families and external stakeholders and contributing to a welcoming school environment that reflects the school’s values.
Eligibility/Other Requirements:
- Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Apply for or renew a WWVP registration - Access Canberra (act.gov.au)
- Administrative Service Officers in schools are required to work during school stand-down periods (school holidays), with flexible arrangements by agreement.
- The role may involve supporting student supervision during school activities in line with school requirements.
- The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate the ACT Public Service values of respect, integrity, collaboration and innovation. The successful applicant may be selected based on application and referee only.
Desirables
- Experience in an administration role.
- Knowledge of HR and staffing related roles
- First Aid Certificate or a willingness to undertake appropriate training.
- Business qualifications or experience in a business-related role
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of school specific software including Sentral, Kronos, HR21 and Timetabler or similar.
