$66,672 - $88,163 plus superannuation

Details: This position is based in Clinical Practice, an interprofessional team of psychologists, social workers, allied health professionals and allied health assistants. Allied Health Assistants in Clinical Practice work with the Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech Language Pathology and/or Social Work teams. The individuals in this position work with students who have, or are at risk of, developmental delays, and students with disabilities who need additional support to access the school curriculum. This will involve the implementation of individual and/or group intervention programs for students and may include the use of specialised equipment, equipment management and resource preparation.

The successful applicant will work under the supervision and direction of Allied Health Professionals. Staff at this level may be required to provide professional supervision to Allied Health Assistants Level 1 and 2 and Allied Health Assistant students.

You will have the opportunity to contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of programs which support schools to make reasonable adjustments to ensure students are participating in and accessing learning activities as part of the school curriculum.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements:

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

  • Allied Health Assistant Certificate IV or equivalent qualification and relevant experience.
  • Capacity to provide lifting and handling required in clinical intervention and the trial of equipment.
  • Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Apply for or renew a WWVP registration - Access Canberra
  • Current drivers licence essential, including access to a private vehicle for work purposes.

Note: There is one permanent role available and one temporary role that is available for a period of 12 months with the possibility of permanency. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
