About the College

Located on Sydney’s North Shore, Brigidine College St Ives is a thriving Catholic Independent girls’ school where learning sparks curiosity, confidence, and achievement. You’ll be joining a community that values collaboration, creativity, and a strong culture of professional growth.

About the Role

Brigidine College St Ives is seeking an exceptional Teacher Librarian to operate across three interconnected capacities: as a curriculum contributor, an information and educational technology specialist, and an information manager — partnering with staff across all key learning areas to embed information literacy and digital citizenship into the heart of our curriculum.

This is a temporary part-time 12-month position with up to 0.8 FTE (negotiable)

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Heads of Department and classroom teachers to embed information literacy, research skills and digital citizenship across all subjects and year groups.
  • Oversee the daily administration of library systems including Oliver Softlink, LibGuides and ClickView, maintaining collections to SCIS cataloguing standards.
  • Promote and advise on educational technologies — including Microsoft Education products and Canvas (the College's LMS) — to enrich teaching and learning.
  • Lead library events and community programs such as Book Week, author talks, book clubs and reading challenges.
  • Implement academic integrity programs, including All My Own Work, Turnitin and Harvard referencing conventions.
  • Teach engaging library-based lessons that build students' capacity to use information critically and ethically, including AI and web-based sources.
  • Support students in independent and HSC research, guiding access to databases, primary sources and digital research tools.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • ALIA-accredited postgraduate qualification in Teacher Librarianship (e.g. MEdTL or equivalent).
  • Current NSW teacher accreditation (NESA) and a valid NSW Working with Children Check.
  • Thorough knowledge of the NSW Curriculum and contemporary secondary teaching and learning practices.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering information literacy and research skills programs with measurable learning outcomes.
  • Proficiency with Library Management Systems (Oliver, LibGuides) and familiarity with digital databases, eResources and emerging educational technologies.
  • Strong working knowledge of Canvas, OneNote and Microsoft 365 products.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with classroom teachers and school leadership to integrate library programs into curriculum delivery.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy school environment.

How to apply

Please submit the following:

  • A cover letter outlining your interest in the role and addressing the selection criteria.
  • A current resume, including the names and contact details of three professional referees.
