Role Description
Seventh-day Adventist Schools (Greater Sydney) Ltd is seeking a dedicated Finance and Admin Officer to support the day-to-day financial and administrative operations of the school. This position is full-time and located close to Auburn train station. Reporting to the Business Manager, the Finance & Administration Officer works in collaboration with the Principal and the system Finance team to ensure smooth financial processes and effective school administration.
The role plays a key part in supporting school operations and providing professional, friendly service to our community.

Required
- Certificate in Business, Accounting, or equivalent relevant work experience
- Current Working with Children Check

Application Requirements
- Experience in finance, accounting, or administration (school experience desirable but not essential)
- Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a small-school environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Confidence using accounting systems (TechOne experience desirable; training provided where needed)
- Strong communication skills and a service-oriented mindset
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Alignment with Christian values and support for the school’s ethos

Key Responsibilities (High-Level)
Finance & Fees Administration
- Oversee daily finance operations, including accounts receivable/payable, banking, and general financial administration
- Prepare, issue, and manage school fee statements and invoices
- Manage parent enquiries related to fees and statements
- Monitor family charges for camps, excursions, and other incidentals, liaising with teaching staff as required
- Collect application and acceptance fees for new enrolments
- Support payment plans, bad debt management, and fee assistance applications and correspondence
Reporting, Compliance & Systems
- Maintain accurate financial and administrative records
- Support month-end processes, reconciliations, compliance, reporting, and audit requirements
- Monitor and complete monthly school finance checklists
- Liaise with the system finance office and assist with system processes
- Ensure receipts and postings are up to date
Administration & Operations
- Assist with expense processing and staff administration
- Coordinate school bus maintenance scheduling, service providers, and record-keeping
- Collaborate with the front office to support smooth school operations
- Provide friendly, professional service to families, staff, and external stakeholders
- Assist with general office and school administration tasks as required
